Health and Safety Manager

Northern Southland Transport is part of Trojan Holdings Ltd, which is a family owned and operated business. We have extensive interests in transport, tourism and commercial property throughout Central Otago and Southland. We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to support our managers and help drive continued improvement in our safety culture. This is a great opportunity for an energetic safety professional, especially if they have a passion for the transport industry. Key responsibilities will include: * Developing and implementing effective health and safety policies and procedures; * Conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations; * Providing training and guidance to employees on health and safety best practices; * Investigating incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions; * Collaborating with other departments to integrate health and safety into all aspects of the business; * Maintaining accurate records and reporting to relevant authorities as required. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science); * Minimum 5 years' experience in health and safety management; * Strong understanding of New Zealand health and safety legislation and regulations; * Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; * Ability to work independently and as part of a team; * Willingness to travel throughout Central Otago and Southland.
