General Information For our new Technical Compliance Management System (TCMS) organization on corporate level we are looking for a Senior Functional Safety Assessor to ensure adherence to functional safety requirements. The Functional Safety Assessor reports TC Officer Romania and to the head of functional experts within the Technical Compliance unit. Your Key Responsibilities * Independent performance of qualified functional safety assessments for the Schaeffler Group's demanding products according to their safety integrity levels, such as SIL or ASIL; * Co-design of the Schaeffler Group's Functional Safety Management System; * Consulting and support of the various company divisions in the implementation of the Functional Safety Management System as well as appropriate processes, methods and techniques for Functional Safety; * Analysis and interpretation legal regulations and standards for functional safety; * Analysis, evaluation and improvement of processes, methods and tools used in the context of product development and product life cycle regarding Functional Safety; * Coordination of development activities with a focus on functional safety in technically demanding product development projects in the application areas of electromobility, automated driving and/or Industry 4.0, including technical cooperation with other safety disciplines (e.g. product safety or product cybersecurity); * Supporting the development of innovative safety-relevant mechatronics products from the concept phase to the first series project as a key role in the project team. Your Qualifications * University degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences or comparable fields; * Several years of professional experience in the development of networked, mechatronic systems, their electrical/electronic components or their embedded software in the automotive or industrial environment, ideally in applications in the fields of electric or internal combustion engine powertrains, chassis or steering systems, complex machines or robotics; * Practical experience with functional safety in product development and practical interpretation of safety standards such as B. ISO 26262 or DIN EN IEC 61508 is an advantage; * Fluent in written and spoken English, comparable good knowledge of German is an advantage; * Structured, independent work, high willingness to learn, strong teamwork and communication skills as well as confident handling of internal and external contacts Willingness to travel internationally.
