Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society (KAFS) is an Indigenous service delivery agency located in Kamloops, BC. Our team currently has 30 staff offering comprehensive services to the community from infancy to golden age in Kamloops for 50 years. Some of the programs we deliver include but is not limited to: Delivering family support services. We provide services in parenting support, nutrition education, pre- and post-natal care, infant programs, child and youth programs, school district support, and other community-based programs. Our services are designed to promote the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our clients. We are seeking a Healing Our Spirits Coordinator to join our team. The Healing Our Spirits Coordinator will provide support and coordination for our youth grief and wellness programs. This includes but is not limited to: Providing support and coordination for our youth grief and wellness programs. Developing and implementing program plans and materials. Facilitating group and individual sessions. Providing support and resources to clients. Collaborating with other staff members to ensure a comprehensive approach to client services. Maintaining accurate records and reports. Participating in staff meetings and training sessions. We are looking for a candidate who has a strong understanding of Indigenous culture and the impact of historical trauma on Indigenous peoples. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Indigenous youth and families, and a strong understanding of the importance of cultural safety and humility. The Healing Our Spirits Coordinator will work closely with our team to develop and implement program plans and materials that are culturally appropriate and responsive to the needs of our clients.
