Head of Technology (m/w/d) - Düsseldorf - Energy Trading

We are looking for a leadership figure for our IT organization at our renowned customer in Düsseldorf, an established company that has been successfully active in the stock exchange business for many years. Our customer is developing new business cases and revolutionizing the capital market through technology innovations. A high-performance, agile, and secure technology platform is our central competitive advantage.

As Head of Technology, you will be responsible for the entire technological agenda of the company. You will lead a diverse team of around 35 employees, organized in specialized areas: IT operations (trading systems), application development, and innovation & automation.

Your task is to prepare the technology platform that enables us to bring new business cases to the market in the stock exchange business while maintaining the highest standards for stability, security, and regulatory requirements.

Aufgaben

• Disciplinary leadership of 3 groups, divided into IT operations, software development, and innovation & automation.
• Guidance on initiatives regarding their implementation in IT operations and software development projects, as well as automation endeavors.
• Collaboration with the management board regarding new business cases.
• Support for the management board in new business models and partnerships, particularly in consulting on feasibility and make-or-buy decisions.
• Creation of an adequate IT strategy.
• Guidance of service providers, vendors, and external development capacities.
• Creation of an efficient operating model that focuses on modern automated processes.

Qualifikation

Multiple years of professional experience in the IT field with responsibility for operation, further development, or steering complex systems.

Experience in leading employees or project teams and a solid understanding of IT operations, software systems, and security requirements.

Pleasure in technology, analytical thinking, and interest in capital market-related or high-dynamic business models.
