Head of Software Engineering (m/f/d)

As Head of Software Engineering (m/f/d), you create the framework conditions for excellent software development. You are responsible for the further development of our technical organization, promote technical standards, and purposefully develop our teams and competencies. In doing so, you ensure that we deliver high-quality, economical, and future-proof software solutions to our customers and continuously develop our technical competencies.

• You further develop the strategic direction of our technical organization and give our engineering competencies a clear direction.
• You strengthen our internal software development, architecture, cloud, and DevOps communities and purposefully develop them further.
• You establish technical standards and best practices that promote quality, scalability, and sustainable software development.
• You create framework conditions in which our technical employees can take responsibility, learn from each other, and grow.
• You identify relevant technology trends early on and translate them into concrete added value for our organization and customers.
• You work closely with management and technical experts to actively shape the future of our technical organization.
• You ensure the right balance between technical excellence, customer benefit, and economic viability.

• You possess broad technical understanding and have a deep enough grasp of architecture, quality, and technology decisions to ask the right questions and effectively align technical teams.
• You have successfully led technical teams or managers through growth and change.
• You are able to bring together different interests and align organizations towards common goals.
• You communicate clearly, make decisions, and provide direction even in challenging situations.
• You understand leadership as enablement and promote self-responsibility and ownership.
• You keep customer benefit, technical quality, and economic viability in equal view.
• Ideally, you are familiar with the requirements of an IT consultancy or a project-oriented software development environment.
• You have very good German language skills in speaking and writing (min. C1).
