Job description
A financial services company located in Johannesburg seeks a Head of Software Engineering. This leadership role will focus on modernizing legacy systems, enhancing Agile methodologies, and overseeing a diverse tech stack including C#, .NET, and PostgreSQL. The successful candidate will lead approximately 35 staff, mentor teams, and collaborate with business stakeholders to align technology with strategic objectives. This is a key position requiring strong leadership skills and a robust technical understanding of software engineering principles, Agile methodologies, and modernization strategies. The ideal candidate should have experience in leading cross-functional teams, developing and implementing process improvements, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and contribute to the development of the company's technology strategy.
