HEAD OF SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for a Head of Software Engineering to lead our software development efforts and drive technical excellence across our engineering teams. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this role is perfect for a seasoned engineer who thrives on delivering innovative software solutions that power business growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic technical leadership Define and execute comprehensive technology roadmap aligned with business objectives and market opportunities. Provide technical vision and leadership, ensuring alignment of technology initiatives with overall company strategy. Drive innovation, research, and evaluate new technologies to improve software development processes and product offerings. Team Management Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation within the team. Manage resource allocation, priorities, and performance to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software. Project Delivery Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Implement and enforce best practices in software development, including coding standards, testing, and documentation. Technical Expertise Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to the engineering team when needed. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, and share knowledge with the team. Drive improvements in software architecture, design, and implementation. Cross-functional Collaboration Collaborate with product, design, and other teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Communicate technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Drive alignment and collaboration across teams to ensure successful project outcomes. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in a leadership role within software engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of experience. Strong understanding of software development principles, methodologies, and best practices. Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions. Experience managing and mentoring software engineering teams. Experience with various programming languages, frameworks, and technologies. Strong project management and organizational skills.
