Head of Service - Corporate Parenting & Looked After Children

As Head of Service – Corporate Parenting & Looked After Children, you will lead and inspire teams delivering high-quality services for Looked After Children and Care Leavers. You’ll drive strategic improvement, champion partnership working, and ensure robust safeguarding and case management across Kirklees. Key responsibilities include: Leading operational teams supporting Looked After Children and Care Leavers Translating strategy into outstanding social care practice Driving partnership working to improve outcomes for children and young people Ensuring effective communication with stakeholders, including children, young people, families, and professionals Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key partners, including local authorities, voluntary sector organisations, and other stakeholders Providing strategic leadership and direction to the service, ensuring a focus on improving outcomes for Looked After Children and Care Leavers. You will also be responsible for: Managing budgets and resources to deliver high-quality services Monitoring and evaluating service performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary Developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and guidance to support the delivery of high-quality services Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards Providing a safe and inclusive working environment for all staff, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
