Head of Rolling Stock (m/w/d)

As Head of Rolling Stock Execution, you will be responsible for overseeing one of our strategically important initiatives: building and implementing new vehicle projects. From the design and development phase to industrialization and final acceptance, you will steer our rolling stock initiatives comprehensively – operationally and strategically.

You will build a high-performing project team, lead it technically and disciplinarily, and ensure smooth cooperation with manufacturers, internal stakeholders, and partners. With your contribution, you will lay the foundation for us to scale our train offering in Europe sustainably and offer our customers reliable, modern, and environmentally friendly mobility.

Role Overview

• End-to-end Responsibility for new vehicle projects – from development to construction
• Safeguarding of Time, Cost & Quality throughout all project phases
• Safeguarding of Quality Standards in Production
• BUILDING, LEADING AND DEVELOPING an interdisciplinary project team
• Effective Stakeholder Management (internal, manufacturer, partner, authorities)
• Proactive Problem-Solving and Decision-Making in complex project situations
• Transparent Project and Cost Reporting to the C-Level
• Single Point of Contact (internal and external) for all project-relevant topics

About You

• Multiple years of experience in leading complex, technical large-scale projects, ideally in the rail industry or consulting
• Successful completion of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration
• Experience in building and leading interdisciplinary teams
• Outstanding methodological knowledge in project management (ideally certified)
• Very good technical understanding and a strong decision-making ability
• Very good German and English language skills, Spanish language skills are an asset
• Travel readiness of around 25-30%
