Head of Production (m/f/d) Series Ramp-up & Technical Problem Solving

NOVUS is revolutionizing the world of classic motorcycles and aims to inspire the entire industry to transition towards more sustainable products.

Our first product, NOVUS One, completely rethinks urban mobility, inspiringly combining the advantages of e-bikes – lightness, agility, simplicity – with the performance of large motorcycles.

We are in the series ramp-up phase of our electric motorcycle and are looking for a Head of Production (m/f/d) on short notice to relieve the technical management in day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

The focus is on accompanying the series ramp-up and the targeted resolution of technical issues that arise – for example, related to the drive, CFRP components, the battery, or other vehicle areas. You will independently take over ongoing tasks, analyze the interrelationships, and bring them to a structured solution without us having to onboard you in detail every time.

• Independent takeover of ongoing tasks within the scope of the series ramp-up – e.g., drive, CFRP structure, battery, or other areas
• Analysis of technical interrelationships and derivation of goal-oriented solutions, even with incomplete information
• Close exchange with the workshop and prototype construction on-site to identify, understand, and resolve technical problems directly on the component
• Communication and coordination with suppliers on technical questions and open points
• Structured documentation (reports, analyses, status overviews)
• Relieving management by independent processing and concise, clear feedback on the current status
• Depending on the assigned technical area, optionally: Support in building suitable new supplier relationships, particularly with regard to procurement in China

Qualifications

• Technical degree or comparable qualification (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or similar)
• Experience in technical analysis and problem-solving, ideally in the automotive/vehicle environment or in series ramp-up projects
• Ability to quickly and independently familiarize yourself with new technical topics
• Fluent English (Mandatory)
• On-site presence in Braunschweig preferred to work closely with workshop and prototype construction
• Pragmatic, solution-oriented approach – fitting for our startup environment
• Structured, self-reliant way of working, even with changing priorities

Nice to have:

• Experience in procurement/supplier development, especially in the Asian region (China)
• Knowledge in the area of composite/CFRP components or electric drive systems
• Experience in a startup or small-series production environment
