Head of Product Engineering & Industrialization

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced mechanical/industrial design professional to coordinate and inspire our Design & Cost Engineering team. This role combines technical expertise, creative concept development, and hands-on leadership, focused on designing and optimizing advertising structures, metal products, and custom furniture solutions.

Key responsibilities:

Team coordination:

• Lead and mentor a team of designers and engineers in developing innovative, technically sound, cost-efficient products while ensuring alignment with customer expectations and production capabilities.
• Ensure smooth collaboration across engineering, production, sales, and procurement teams.
• Support workload planning, task distribution, and team development.

Technical Design & Concept Development:

• Develop and review 2D/3D design concepts for metal structures, advertising products, and custom furniture.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with industry and safety standards.
• Provide technical guidance on materials, structural integrity, mechanical functionality, and assembly processes.

CAD & Engineering Tools:

• Work with CAD software and other design tools to create technical drawings and prototypes (Fusion 360, Imos, ArtiosCAD).
• Review technical drawings, BOMs, and prototypes before release to production.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with engineering norms and quality requirements.

Project management:

• Plan and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining timelines, budgets, and deliverable quality.
• Ensure smooth communication with clients and stakeholders throughout the design cycle.

Client collaboration:

• Understand client needs and translate them into functional, manufacturable designs.
• Present concepts, gather feedback, and integrate revisions efficiently.

Quality assurance:

• Validate final designs from a technical and structural standpoint.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations, technical standards, and internal quality procedures.

Team training & Performance evaluation:

• Provide mentorship and training to team members on design techniques and software tools.
• Assess project outcomes and team performance, give constructive feedback, and set development goals.

Ideal candidate profile:

• 5+ years of engineering/design experience, ideally in metal products, industrial design, or custom furniture.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes (sheet metal, welding, machining, bending, finishing).
• Proven leadership experience, motivating and guiding technical teams.
• Advanced proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Imos, Fusion 360).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills.
