Head of Platform & Infrastructure (AI SaaS) (m/w/d)

Shape the technological foundation for a scalable AI-SaaS platform actively.

We are looking for an experienced person with a strategic view on platform architecture, infrastructure, and technical scaling. In this role, you will be responsible for further developing our technical platform and infrastructure strategy and ensure that our systems meet the requirements of a growing AI-SaaS company in a sustainable way.

You combine technological understanding with economic thinking and ensure that scalability, stability, security, and efficiency are combined in a modern platform architecture. You will work closely with management, product management, and engineering to shape central infrastructure decisions actively.

Tasks

• Development and further development of the target architecture for our AI- and voice-based SaaS platform
• Definition and implementation of a scalable, stable, and economically efficient infrastructure strategy
• Surety of scalability when usage increases and system load grows
• Responsibility for cloud-, hosting-, and infrastructure concepts based on modern platform technologies
• Further development of security-, governance-, and compliance-structures
• Introduction and optimization of observability-, monitoring-, and performance-standards
• Optimization of infrastructure costs with a view to scalability, stability, and economic efficiency
• BUILDING clear infrastructure roadmaps as well as prioritizing technical initiatives
• Steering external technology- and infrastructure partners
• Closely working with engineering, product management, and management on architecture- and platform decisions
• Surety of clear decision-making and prioritization processes to avoid delays in infrastructure- and platform initiatives

Qualification

• Multiple years of experience in technical architecture-, platform-, or infrastructure-roles
• Experience in building or further developing scalable SaaS platforms
• Very good understanding of modern cloud infrastructures, ideally Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Very good understanding of Linux-based systems and their operation in productive cloud environments
• Experience with AI-/LLM-based systems or data-intensive platform environments
• Fundamental knowledge of infrastructure architecture, platform design, and DevOps-like structures
• Experience with security-, governance-, and compliance-requirements in modern cloud environments
• Able to make technical architecture decisions under consideration of scalability, costs, and feasibility under time pressure and with clear prioritization
• Experience working with engineering teams as well as aligning with business stakeholders
• Able to communicate complex technical topics clearly and addressably
• Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented work style
• High degree of self-responsibility, decision-making strength, and implementation orientation
