Head of Operational Excellence at Osypka GmbH

The Freiburg Institute is seeking a Head of Operational Excellence for Osypka GmbH.

Tasks

Your Mission

You will build operational excellence from the ground up at Osypka GmbH and leave lasting impact. In this key role, you will define, implement, and anchor a Lean culture at the German location. You will be daily present on the shop floor, coach team leaders, moderate boards at all hierarchical levels, and consistently set improvement projects in motion — until teams work independently and efficiently.

Your Tasks

• Introduce, roll out, and culturally anchor Lean culture and shop floor management on all levels
• Moderate Tiered Daily Management (TDM) at 3 hierarchical levels and coach team leaders specifically
• Organize, moderate, and document regular Gemba Walks independently
• Develop a CI-Roadmap and implement initial projects (VSM, Kaizen, 5S, PDCA)
• Built KPI cascade and strategic performance tracking (OEE, Scrap, Liefertreue)
• Establish Lean Six Sigma program as internal trainer and mentor
• Introduce PMO-Governance and Stage-Gate-Prozesses and actively participate in S&OP and CI projects
• Ensure compliance with QM-System and directly involve employees in QMS requirements

Qualification

• Completed degree (MSc or PhD) in an engineering discipline
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, preferably Black Belt, or comparable training
• Multiple years of work experience in the MedTech industry or a regulated industry (Pharma or Aerospace)
• Demonstrated success in building and rolling out operational excellence programs
• Experience in building and/or rolling out operational excellence programs and shop floor management
• Knowledge in data analytics, value stream analysis, and performance metrics
• Outstanding coaching and training skills
• Hands-on mentality: direct, implementation-oriented, and performance-focused
