Head of IT Operations Vessels - (m/f/d)

As Head of IT Operations Vessels (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the IT infrastructure of currently 17 ships together with two experienced colleagues and one trainee, as well as for the design and further development of international standards in ship IT.

Responsibilities

• You will lead a three-person team in Flensburg and be responsible for the deployment and resource planning for operational IT support.
• You will ensure stable IT operations on ships, in ports, and at points of sale.
• You will be responsible for central IT services such as WLAN, 5G, checkout systems, cameras, and passenger information systems.
• You will develop group-wide usable standards and reusable solutions for maritime IT.
• Your focus will be on steering, organization, and process security; if necessary, you will also provide hands-on support yourself.
• You will work closely with the Managing Director IT and the other Heads of IT at the interfaces to land IT, cloud, and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• You bring several years of experience in IT infrastructure in a maritime or ship-related environment.
• You have very good know-how in networking and connectivity, e.g., WLAN, 5G, satellite communication, and antenna technology.
• Initial leadership experience is an advantage, but not a must – more important are a sense of responsibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to clearly coordinate technical deployments and employees.
• You are convincing through organizational talent, solution orientation, and a pragmatic hands-on mentality.
• You communicate confidently in English and have very good German language skills.
• You have a high willingness to travel (predominantly domestic) and flexibility, and are also open to occasional deployments outside of regular working hours.
