A new digital brokerage needs an IT department that everyone can rely on. An infrastructure that grows with us, systems that run stably, and security standards that meet the highest requirements. At GENO Broker, we are developing a new digital brokerage offering with the backing of the cooperative financial group. As Head of IT Operations, you will shape the technical operating landscape and ensure that our platform is not only powerful but also secure, reliable, and regulatory compliant. You will be responsible for the entire IT infrastructure, system availability, and technical operational security. At the same time, you will shape the collaboration between IT Operations, IT Security Engineering, and Testing, and develop structures for our further growth.

Your Tasks:

• You will be responsible for stable, scalable, and highly available IT operations and ensure a powerful system landscape.
• You will ensure that our IT infrastructure and processes meet regulatory requirements, especially with regard to IT Security, Risk Management, Business Continuity Management (BCM), and Disaster Recovery.
• You will work closely with the CISO and further develop the technical implementation of our cyber security requirements.
• You will establish effective reaction and escalation processes for system failures and security incidents.
• You will manage and optimize our incident, problem, and change management processes.
• You will plan and coordinate technical and functional software tests, especially for our brokerage app, and ensure their quality.
• You will further develop the IT Operations strategy and be responsible for scaling, budget and cost control, as well as the economic further development of your area.
• You will lead and develop the teams in the areas of IT Operations, IT Security Engineering, and Testing and promote agile collaboration.
• You will work closely with other IT areas as well as product and compliance teams and translate complex technical issues into understandable decision-making bases.

What you bring:

• You have several years of experience in IT Operations and infrastructure management, ideally from the financial industry or a comparably regulated technology environment.
• You are familiar with the regulatory requirements for IT systems in the financial sector, particularly BaFin regulations, DORA, and GDPR, and know how to set up IT infrastructures and processes in an audit-proof manner.
• You have sound technical knowledge in cloud and infrastructure architectures, cyber security, IT security engineering, incident response, BCM, disaster recovery, as well as relevant process frameworks and testing procedures.
• You have experience in the strategic and economic management of IT areas, including scaling, budget planning, cost control, and data-based process optimization.
• You are familiar with agile working methods such as Scrum and Kanban from practice and know how to use them in collaboration with different teams.
• You have already led interdisciplinary tech teams and can provide direction to people even in a dynamic environment.
• You maintain an overview even during critical system incidents, make well-founded decisions, and confidently manage challenges.
• You communicate confidently with various stakeholders, think cross-functionally, and get hands-on when necessary.
