We are currently looking for several companies in parallel: medium-sized and internationally active organizations that want to professionalize, modernize, or realign their IT, Cloud, and Platform. Therefore, this announcement is intentionally broad. Whether your focus is more on Cloud Platform, internal IT, software operations, or the connection between development and administration: if you can lead and understand technology, a conversation is worthwhile.

We will accompany you from the initial exchange through preparation for interviews with the respective employers to the decision. We will clarify together which environment suits you best; industry, size, location model, and task focus are negotiable.

Responsibilities

• You will take on the technical and disciplinary leadership of an IT, IIoT, Cloud, or Platform team and develop people, working methods, and delivery capability.
• You will shape the technical direction: from internal IT and operations to Cloud and Platform services to collaboration with software development.
• You will connect development and administration. Architecture, operations, automation, security, and costs are not separate worlds for you.
• You will modernize infrastructure and platforms with a view to stability, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness – on-prem, hybrid, or cloud-native, depending on the environment.
• You will establish or strengthen standards such as Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, monitoring, incident and change processes, as well as clear collaboration between development, operations, and business departments.
• You will be a sparring partner for management, business departments, and development teams, translating technical options into understandable decisions.
• You will build structures or organize existing ones: roles, responsibilities, delivery models, and a culture in which knowledge is shared.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in software development and in administration, operations, or platform engineering. Both must be evident in your career, the weighting may vary.
• At least 2 to 5 years of leadership experience, technical or disciplinary, for example as Team Lead, Chapter Lead, Head of IT, Head of, Engineering Manager, or in a comparable role. Even if you have initial leadership responsibility with clear proof of impact, it's good; a large line organization is not a prerequisite.
• Proficient in at least one relevant stack of cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), container and platform technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and classic system or network administration.
• Experience in stabilizing operations while enabling further development: monitoring, automation, security basics, release and incident processes.
• The ability to speak at eye level with administrators and developers, while also engaging management and business departments in an understandable way.
• Strong communication skills in German; English is an advantage in many environments but not mandatory everywhere.

Advantageous, but not required:

• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid setups, Microsoft 365/workplace environments, ERP or business-process-related systems.
• Exposure to DevOps, Platform, SRE, MLOps, or AI/LLM Infrastructure topics.
• Budget, vendor, or service provider management.
• Building, merging, or realigning an IT or platform organization, not just leading an already running team.
