Head of Engineering (m/w/d)

We are seeking an experienced leadership figure for a strategic engineering function in an international, technologically demanding environment.

The position is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the entire engineering department and reports directly to the executive board. We are looking for a structured, technically skilled individual with outstanding leadership skills and the ambition to continuously develop processes, standards, and teams.

Tasks

Technical and disciplinary leadership of the construction team as well as overall responsibility for the mechanical development and construction of complex technical systems.

Ensuring economically, qualitatively high-value, and timely project development.

Analyzing, optimizing, and further developing existing engineering processes and construction standards.

Technical leadership in challenging questions in the field of complex assemblies, rotating systems, as well as mechanical design and life cycle considerations.

Interface management between development, procurement, and production to ensure efficient workflows along the entire value chain.

Technical clarification with customers and suppliers as well as sovereign representation of the technical department both internally and externally.

Qualification

Completed studies in the field of mechanical engineering or comparable technical qualification with a construction-focused emphasis.

Multiple years of experience in special machinery manufacturing or technically demanding plant construction.

Fundamental knowledge of constructing complex assemblies, ideally in the context of rotating systems.

Safe handling of 2D and 3D CAD systems, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor.

Experience with PDM systems like Vault as well as ERP systems like ABAS.

Revision-safe working style and understanding of structured change processes.

Outstanding organizational strength, economic thinking, and leadership experience in the engineering environment.
