Head of Engineering / CTO (m/w/d)

We are building the platform at dotega, where Wegs can digitally organize their administration transparently and without paperwork. To achieve this, we are looking for a Head of Engineering / CTO (m/w/d) who is eager to take responsibility, code cleanly, and scale our product further with us. 🚀

Tasks

• You will be responsible for the technical vision, architecture, and code quality of our platform.
• You will develop yourself actively in both frontend and backend (Java/Spring Boot & Angular) – hands-on, feature-near, pragmatic.
• You will prioritize technical topics together with Product and ensure that we ship quickly and cleanly.
• You will lead the engineering setup: processes, standards, reviews, testing, deployment.
• You will manage our internal Tech Team and externally freelance/agency teams as an extended workshop.
• You will build the platform further scalable (stability, performance, security, cloud).
• You will be a sparring partner for Product/Business and translate requirements into good technical solutions.

Qualification

• Multiple years of experience as a Senior/Lead Engineer or Tech-Lead in web products.
• You can not only evaluate code, but also write it yourself – and you really want to.
• Very good knowledge of Java / Spring Boot and Angular (or very close).
• Experience with architectural decisions, cloud/scaling, and product development in ongoing operation.
• You think in solutions instead of tickets and have a strong ownership mindset.
• Leadership experience (internally/externally) – but without corporate ego: you roll up your sleeves yourself.
• Bonus (not mandatory): Experience with CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure.
