Hire Resolve's client is urgently seeking the expertise of a "Head of Desk/Trading" individual to join their team in Cape Town.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of traders to achieve trading objectives and profitability targets
- Develop and implement trading strategies to maximize returns and minimize risks
- Identify market opportunities and execute trades across various asset classes
- Collaborate with research teams and analysts to stay informed on market trends and developments
- Monitor and analyze market data and performance metrics to make informed trading decisions
- Manage trading operations, including trade execution, risk management, and compliance
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes and compliance requirements related to trading activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field; advanced degree or CFA designation preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trading, with a proven track record of successful trading strategies and risk management
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, trading platforms, and market data analysis tools
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and competitive trading environment
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards in trading activities
