Head of Department - PE & Sports

An exciting leadership role for a dynamic educator ready to inspire active learning, wellbeing, and school-wide connection.

About the Role
You'll take the lead in shaping Health and PE across the school, fostering a culture where sport and wellbeing are central to learning and personal growth. This role blends leadership with hands-on teaching, providing opportunities to design engaging programmes, coordinate school-wide sporting events, and mentor others in promoting physical and mental wellbeing.
You'll bring energy, initiative and creativity to build on strong existing foundations - ensuring every student feels supported and inspired to reach their potential. Collaboration and connection are at the heart of this role, with a close-knit team and an environment that truly values balance, innovation and community.
What You'll Bring
- NZ teacher registration (or eligibility to obtain it)
- Strong background in Physical Education and Health
- Proven classroom experience within the NZ Curriculum (ideally 5+ years)
- Leadership capability - mentoring, collaboration, and initiative
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine commitment to holistic, values-based education
