Head of Data Engineering

Cape Town, ZA - Hybrid (Remote and In Person) As the Head of Data Engineering you will be responsible for leading a core team of data engineers and maturing the data engineering competency, leveraging our modern infrastructure to drive tangible business impact. The role is expected to drive the adoption of the best practices and technologies to achieve excellence in data product delivery. You will be accountable for the performance and stability of our production platforms working in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems. This includes but not limited to, data warehousing, ETL processes, data quality, data governance, and data security. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in data engineering, experience in leading high-performing teams, and excellent communication skills. In this role, you will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the field of data engineering and apply that knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within our organization. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment and effective communication of data engineering initiatives.
