Head of Data & Business Intelligence (m/f/d)

Full Time Mid Level

Job description

Job Description

Pammys is one of Germany's fastest-growing D2C footwear brands – with over 1.3 million female customers and over 4 million Euros in paid social spend per month. At this scale, data quality doesn't just determine reports, it determines millions. That's exactly why we are building the role that doesn't exist yet: You will turn data into our sharpest steering instrument.
You will be responsible for the complete data area – from infrastructure, tracking, and attribution to the dashboards used by founders and the management team for daily decisions. You will build the area from scratch, with direct access to the founders and the freedom to shape the stack and team yourself.
Data Infrastructure. You will build our central data warehouse and connect all relevant sources – shop, paid channels, ERP/inventory management, fulfillment, CRM – into a clean, reliable truth. No more numbers that look different depending on the tool.
Tracking & Attribution. You will be responsible for our tracking setup end-to-end: server-side tracking, conversion APIs, data quality in the ad platforms. At our spend level, every percentage point of measurement accuracy is real money – you will ensure our signals are better than the competition's.
Control Logic. You will develop the key performance indicators by which we truly steer: contribution margin per product, channel, and cooperation – close to real-time instead of weeks later. You will translate business questions into data models and data models into decisions.
Reporting & Self-Service. You will build dashboards that are used – from the founders' daily control board to self-service analyses for the teams. Your goal: every important question is answered in seconds, not in meetings.
Forecasting & Analytics. You will support purchasing and inventory planning, revenue forecasts, and cohort analyses with models that stand up to reality – and provide the management team with the analyses on which major decisions are based.

Your Tasks

  • Several years of experience in data/BI roles in the e-commerce or D2C environment – ideally where high advertising budgets were involved
  • You have already built or were significantly responsible for a modern data stack (e.g., data warehouse, ELT pipelines, BI tool) – and can justify why you chose which tools
  • Deep understanding of tracking and attribution in the paid social environment: server-side, conversion APIs, the limitations of platform attribution
  • Very good SQL knowledge and experience with common BI tools; Python or comparable is an advantage
  • You think from the business perspective, not from the technology: contribution margin, CAC, and inventory coverage are steering metrics for you, not just buzzwords
  • Hands-on down to the detail: You will build the first pipelines and dashboards yourself before you build a team
  • You can communicate with non-technical people – and turn unclear questions into precise data products
  • Very good German or English

Your Profile

  • Demonstrable experience in building and further developing modern data stacks, including data warehouse, data pipelines, and BI solutions
  • Deep understanding of tracking, attribution, and data quality in the paid social environment, especially server-side tracking and conversion APIs
  • Very good SQL knowledge and experience with common BI tools; Python or comparable technologies are a plus
  • Strong commercial understanding of contribution margin, CAC, revenue, forecasting, and inventory management, and the ability to translate data into concrete business decisions
  • Distinct hands-on mindset: You will build data models, pipelines, and dashboards yourself and, from these, prospectively develop a high-performing data team
  • High communication skills and the ability to present complex data questions comprehensibly and relevantly for decision-making to founders, executives, and departments

Your Benefits at Pammys

  • A greenfield situation with immediate impact: Your work will directly influence decisions on seven-figure monthly budgets from week one
  • Full ownership over the stack, roadmap, and prospectively your own team
  • Direct access to the founders and short decision-making processes – tool decisions are made in days, not quarters
  • A profitable, fast-growing company as a foundation – you are building on strength, not hope
  • A compensation package that reflects the role
  • Offices in Hamburg and the Kiel region, hybrid work possible
  • A team that loves pace and celebrates successes
