Head of Commercial Network Planning (m/w/d)

As a strategic leadership role, you shape the commercial development of FlixTrain. You are responsible for the portfolio of offers, develop our network further, and ensure that demand, capacity, and economic goals are consistently linked. With your team, you create decision-making bases for growth and profitability – from long-term expansion to the annual schedule.

About the Role

• Offer and Demand Strategy:You ensure reliable demand and sales forecasts, develop models together with your team, and ensure that decisions are based on solid assumptions.
• Strategic Network and Expansion Planning:You develop scenario networks, test their economic feasibility, and lead recommendations for expansion, fleet strategy, and long-term investments.
• Capacity and Offer Design:You define commercial guidelines for the annual schedule and ensure that capacities, traffic intensities, and seasonal characteristics are consistently aligned – in close coordination with operational planning.
• Sales Planning & Monitoring:You are responsible for sales planning, develop a monitoring system to detect deviations early on, and ensure a clean interface to Yield Management and Pricing.
• Leadership & Team Building:You build a team of analysts and offer planners, develop them further, and foster analytical strength and a learning-oriented work culture.
• Stakeholder Cooperation:You work closely with operational planning, Yield/Pricing, Public Affairs, and Marketing to align offer, demand, regulation, and customer segments consistently.

About You

You bring an entrepreneurial perspective, analytical strength, and leadership experience. Additionally, you have:

• Multiple years of experience in offer planning in the rail or air transport sector.
• You have a deep understanding of mobility behavior and transportation mode choice.
• You work well with complex questions and have the goal to continuously bring us forward.
• You have successfully developed teams, can manage different profiles, and foster a culture that sets priorities on clarity, learning, and responsibility.
• Knowledge of regulatory processes is helpful but not necessarily required.
