Head of Cloud Platform Development - Kubernetes / OpenStack (m/f/d)

For an established German cloud and IT infrastructure provider, we are looking for an experienced leader who will be responsible for the strategic and technical further development of modern cloud platforms based on Kubernetes and OpenStack.

In this role, you will combine technological expertise with strategic foresight and develop future-proof platform solutions together with your team.

Tasks

• You will be responsible for the further development of Kubernetes and OpenStack based cloud platforms.
• You will develop technical roadmaps, define development priorities, and guide architectural decisions.
• You will lead your team technically and disciplinarily and promote the further development of your employees.
• You will work closely with product management and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• You will ensure the quality of the platform solutions and their structured handover to the operations department.

Qualification

• Several years of leadership experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Development, or comparable technical fields.
• In-depth experience with cloud platforms and their architecture as well as further development.
• Good understanding of Kubernetes, container technologies, and modern cloud infrastructures.
• Knowledge of Linux, networking, storage, virtualization, and distributed systems.
• Strategic thinking, hands-on mentality, and strong leadership skills.
• Knowledge of OpenStack is an advantage, but not a requirement.
