Job description

For our partner, an international engineering and technical consulting company, we are looking for a Head of Business Unit – Infrastructure Transports, who will coordinate the design activities for major transport infrastructure projects in Romania – highways, express roads, bridges, and railways.

Profile Sought:

  • Higher education in Civil Engineering / Construction, ideally with a specialization in roads, bridges, and/or railways;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in transport infrastructure;
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in technical coordination, project management, or business management;
  • Direct experience in highway, express road, bridge, and/or railway projects;
  • Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and complex projects;
  • Experience in dealing with beneficiaries such as CNAIR, CNIR, and/or CFR constitutes a significant advantage;
  • Exposure to tenders, bidding, and client management is a plus;
  • Knowledge of Government Decision 1/2018 and FIDIC contracts is an advantage;
  • Excellent leadership, organization, prioritization, and decision-making skills;
  • English language – advanced level.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Technical coordination of design teams – roads, bridges, and railways;
  • Supervision of the project portfolio and ensuring compliance with deadlines, quality standards, and contractual requirements;
  • Coordination and prioritization of internal and external resources across projects;
  • Management of the technical relationship with beneficiaries, partners, and consortium members;
  • Monitoring the physical and financial progress of projects – delivery versus invoicing;
  • Coordination of the technical component for new tenders and projects;
  • Selection and coordination of subcontractors and collaborators;
  • Development and mentoring of the technical team;
  • Active contribution to the consolidation and development of the company's activity in Romania.
