HITS.NRW is a newly founded, central IT service provider for public universities in North Rhine-Westphalia.

What awaits you

In this central role, you will take responsibility for leading a team of Application- and DevOps-Engineers and actively shaping the strategic development of the department. Your tasks include:

• Führung & Strategie: Development of a clear team vision, derivation of annual goals and KPIs, resource and budget planning including forecasting for operations and projects, as well as building a learning-oriented team culture
• Service & Betrieb: Responsibility for the smooth 2nd- & 3rd-Level-Support of central university applications (Campus Management, LMS, Research Portals), monitoring of SLAs, availability and performance key figures, as well as continuous improvement of deployments (CI/CD) and release management processes
• Zentraler Ansprechpartner für IT-Leitungen und Hochschulen: Building new user communities, requirements management, conducting service reviews, training for end-users, consulting on architecture and integration questions
• Prozessoptimierung & Innovation: Roll-out of innovative solutions together with university partners, introduction of operational and support processes (ITIL/ITSM Best Practices) and automation of processes
• Zusammenarbeit & Kommunikation: Close cooperation with the Cloud and Cyber Security departments and representation of the team in expert working groups

What you bring

• Completed university degree in (business) informatics or equivalent qualification
• At least 5 years of experience in application operation or software lifecycle management, including at least 2+ years in a leadership role
• Fundamental knowledge of the ITIL framework, DevOps methodology and public cloud environments
• Experience with university IT systems (e.g. HISinOne, Moodle, Ilias) is advantageous
• Outstanding service- and customer-oriented skills, communication strength and assertiveness
• Very good German and English language skills in writing and speaking
