Responsibilities

• Preparation of individual financial statements of European companies according to HGB/OR and IFRS, including notes, management report, and interim IFRS financial statements
• Overall responsibility for the balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow statement of the European companies
• Ensuring proper, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including general ledger, sub-ledgers, provisions, and accruals
• Quality assurance of all balance sheet items, including balance sheet analyses, account reconciliations, and cash flow reporting
• Technical and operational responsibility for German and Swiss companies, as well as management of external accounting service providers in Norway
• Balance sheet support for the UK business classified as "Held for Sale"
• Contact person for auditors, tax advisors, and external auditing bodies
• Further development of an effective internal control system
• Central contact person for complex accounting issues according to HGB and IFRS (e.g., IFRS 16, IFRS 5, impairment tests, purchase price allocations, intercompany reconciliations, foreign currency valuation)
• Responsibility for the annual budgeting and planning process, including forecasts and variance analyses
• Business partnering for operational units on financial matters and investment projects
• Leadership of the realignment and modernization of the European accounting function
• Leadership of the Dynamics 365 Business Central upgrade and standardization/digitalization of Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, and Order-to-Cash
• Building, leading, and further developing a high-performing accounting team (recruiting, coaching, development)

Qualifications

Must-have

• Successfully completed degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or comparable
• Several years of leadership experience in accounting within an international company
• Proven experience in responsibility for multiple companies and countries
• Sound operational experience in accounting with a strong hands-on mentality
• Very good knowledge of HGB and IFRS accounting standards
• Fluent English skills; German language skills are essential

Nice-to-have

• Certified Public Accountant, Tax Advisor, or comparable additional qualification
• Proven experience in transformation projects, organizational development, and ERP implementations
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or comparable ERP systems
• Strong communication, leadership, and change management competencies
