Head Gardener

Job Description Mō te tūranga | About the Role Our Head Gardeners play an important role in building thriving communities at Arvida. At Olive Tree , you will lead your team in providing a park-life environment through planning, directing, and overseeing the maintenance of gardens, lawns, and landscaping to an excellent standard. You will set and oversee the garden schedule, provide guidance and direction to the team, and ensure all work is carried out according to design briefs, within budget, and in accordance with Arvida's policies and procedures. This role is responsible for managing a team of gardeners, and ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of work completed, and reporting to the relevant stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture, and experience in team management. You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, and be able to prioritize tasks and manage your time effectively. You will also be required to work in a variety of weather conditions, and be able to lift and move heavy objects. This is a full-time position, and you will be required to work a standard 40-hour week, with some flexibility to work outside of regular hours as required. You will also be required to participate in on-call duties, and be available to work on weekends and public holidays as required. You will be required to hold a current driver's license, and be able to travel to different locations as required. You will also be required to hold a current first aid certificate, and be able to provide assistance in an emergency situation. You will be required to work in a team environment, and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. You will also be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in a professional manner. You will be required to adhere to Arvida's policies and procedures, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to the company's values and culture. You will also be required to participate in training and professional development opportunities, and be able to demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow with the company.
