Job description
We are seeking an experienced HAZOP Facilitator to provide part-time, on-demand support for hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies across various engineering projects. The successful candidate will lead structured reviews of process systems to identify potential risks, operability issues, and opportunities for improvement. This is an ad hoc consulting role , ideal for professionals who prefer flexible engagement during key project milestones. Key Responsibilities * Plan, organize, and facilitate HAZOP studies, ensuring adherence to established methodologies and best practices. * Lead HAZOP teams, guiding discussions, and ensuring thorough examination of process designs, operating procedures, and plant layouts. * Identify and document potential hazards, operability concerns, and deviations from design intent. * Evaluate the potential consequences of identified hazards and assess the associated risks. * Develop and document recommendations for risk mitigation, including design changes, procedural improvements, and safety measures. * Prepare and maintain comprehensive HAZOP reports, including findings, recommendations, and action items. * Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and resolution of identified issues. * Provide technical expertise and guidance on HAZOP methodologies and risk assessment techniques. * Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to process safety and HAZOP studies. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. * Demonstrated experience as a HAZOP facilitator, with a minimum of [insert number] years of experience. * Comprehensive understanding of HAZOP methodologies, including the application of guide words and deviation analysis. * Familiarity with process safety principles, including risk assessment, hazard identification, and risk mitigation. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and facilitate HAZOP teams. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess complex hazards. * Proficiency in the use of HAZOP software and related tools. * Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as IEC 61882. * Ability to work independently and remotely, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
