Job description
We are looking for a Janitor / Handyman (m/f/d) starting on 01/01/2027, part-time with 20 hours/week, within our social organization across all locations in Berlin. We are looking forward to someone who brings manual skills and humor and for whom a friendly working atmosphere is important.
Do you enjoy getting hands-on, finding practical solutions, and taking pleasure in making everyday life easier for others? Then you've come to the right place! For us, you are an important part of the team. We treat each other as equals, support each other, and welcome your ideas.
Your Responsibilities
- As a Janitor / Handyman (m/f/d), you will be present at our locations throughout Berlin and ensure that our offices, youth welfare stations, and residential communities are kept in good condition.
- You get hands-on: You will paint walls, assemble furniture, lay floors, and take care of minor repairs.
- You find solutions: You will connect electrical appliances, replace items like bathroom fixtures, and identify where something needs to be repaired.
- You maintain an overview: You will transport materials and work equipment to our locations.
- You work in a team: You will coordinate easily with our property management and the local pedagogical staff.
- In short: You are our go-to person for everything that needs to be repaired, improved, or tackled!
Your Profile
- Manual dexterity through vocational training, e.g., in electrical, plumbing/heating, carpentry, joinery, painting, or metal construction, or solid practical experience.
- An independent, reliable, and structured way of working.
- Enjoyment of contact with different people and respectful interaction.
- Humor, composure, and the ability to maintain an overview even in turbulent situations.
- A driver's license of class B and the willingness to travel within Berlin.
What Awaits You With Us
- Flexible working hours: With 20 weekly hours, you can largely shape your working time in coordination with the teams.
- Fair remuneration: Depending on your experience, you will receive between €16.43 and €18.12 gross per hour. This corresponds to approximately €1,429 to €1,576 gross per month for 20 weekly hours. Furthermore, you will receive an annual special payment, which will be paid out with your November salary. The percentage amount currently corresponds to that of the TV-L Berlin for your classification.
- 30 days of vacation: Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are additional days off.
- Job ticket: We subsidize your Deutschland-Ticket Job or your VBB Firmenticket.
- Health & Sports: Through us, you will receive, among other things, a discounted membership in the Urban Sports Club with an extra subsidy on top.
- Security: You will receive a permanent employment contract and become part of a large network of providers that has been a stable presence in the social provider landscape of Berlin for over 40 years.
- A appreciative team: We support each other and treat each other as equals.
- Scope for design: Your ideas are welcome, and you can actively shape your work area.
- Colleague activities: Team days, celebrations, and original events are part of the Juwo culture.
- Diversity: We live tolerance and openness.
