Hardware Engineer (m/f/d) - Junior to Senior

At bitaggregat, we develop secure hardware for the network sector. Our core product is a self-developed secure network card, which is continuously being further developed. Together with partners from industry and science, we research new technologies and transform them into marketable products.

We are looking for reinforcements for our development team in the area of PCB design and hardware development – both career starters and experienced colleagues who want to independently take responsibility for circuits and layouts. You will work on our secure network card, contribute to our research projects, and help to transfer new technologies into real products.

Tasks

Product Development & Hardware Design

• You will further develop our secure network card and its hardware platform.
• You will create circuit diagrams and PCB layouts for new hardware revisions.
• You will take over routing and, depending on your experience, increasingly work independently on more complex layout topics.
• You will support the commissioning and troubleshooting of hardware prototypes.
• You will conduct electrical measurements and evaluate them.
• You will work closely with our hardware, FPGA, and embedded developers.

Research & Technology Transfer

• You will participate in national and international research projects.
• You will help to transfer new technologies from research projects into our product development.
• You will contribute your own ideas and grow into more responsibility with increasing experience.

Qualification

• Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical Computer Science, or a related technical field of study
• For senior positions: several years of relevant professional experience
• Experience or in-depth knowledge in PCB design (schematic and routing), ideally with Altium Designer
• For career starters: basic understanding of EMC-compliant design and high-speed design
• For senior positions: in-depth experience with EMC-compliant design and high-speed design is a prerequisite
• Curiosity, initiative, and the willingness to familiarize yourself with new technologies
• Enjoyment of teamwork and working at the interface between research and product
• German language skills at least C1, English language skills at least B2

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Xilinx platforms
• Experience with Verilog
• Knowledge in the field of Ethernet or PCIe
• Experience in the area of approvals or certifications for classified information (e.g., VS-NfD, EU SECRET, GEHEIM)
• Experience with security-relevant requirements in the hardware environment (e.g., encryption, tamper protection, secure boot processes)
