Kaaibediende in Gent

We are looking for a Kaaibediende for our harbor activities in Gent. Are you an organizational talent with a passion for logistics? Then this role is something for you!

In the role of kaaibediende, you are responsible for coordinating and organizing the cargo on the quays, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This job is really attractive to people who like variety, and want to take responsibility + work autonomously.

• You receive and guide ships when mooring.
• You coordinate and control the loading and unloading activities on the quay.
• You maintain contact with various stakeholders, such as ship crews, employees, and customers.
• You ensure timely handling of goods and documentation.
• You keep an eye on safety regulations and procedures.
• You quickly and effectively resolve any problems or delays that may arise.

Requirements

You are stress-resistant, communicatively strong, and have a good understanding of the logistics and maritime sector.

You recognize yourself in the following profile:

• You hold a diploma in Logistics, Maritime Sciences, or a comparable education, at bachelor level;
• Experience in a similar function is a plus;
• You possess excellent communication skills in Dutch; knowledge of other languages, such as English or French, is a plus;
• Working in early/late/day shifts (0600-1400, 1400-2200, 0800-1600)
• You are organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
• Flexibility to work in different shifts, including evenings and weekends;
• Knowledge of safety regulations in the harbor is a plus point.
