We currently have an opportunity for a Handyperson. Join our team and play a key role in Assisting skilled tradespeople carry out maintenance, repairs, and project work, which are to be completed promptly and efficiently. Reporting to Maintenance Supervisor, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.
The Opportunity
Spotless Facilities Services (a Downer Company) delivers a range of Facilities Maintenance and Management Services to New Zealand Defence Force.
What You’ll Do (key responsibilities)
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
Working under the direction (direct or indirect) of your designated leader undertaking works related to the delivery of service and /or projects.
Working within the parameters relevant to the work, e.g., time, materials, costs, resources.
Promoting strong collaborative customer relationships with positive interactions and value adding activities.
Complete work in accordance with contract requirements.
Undertake tasks as required from time to time, as determined by the Site Manager / Team Leader
Working within, and assist with, risk and event management and mitigation guidelines.
Promoting business according to our Values.
Escorting of sub-contractors, visitors, client, or any other authorised/ approved persons(s) as required.
Ensuring your assigned works is coordinated and undertaken in an efficient, compliant manner.
Important Skills (experience required)
Drivers’ License, Manual class 1.
Literate (ability to complete time and job sheets, and technical literacy to operate handheld electronic recording devices).
Ability to plan jobs, operate and maintain equipment without supervision.
Ability to Communicate well.
Physically fit and the ability to perform manual labour tasks.
Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Flexibility to work in different environments and adapt to changing priorities.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Technical skills: Working knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools.
Self-motivated, energetic, proactive, and results orientated.
