Job description
1. Job Summary The Field Guide is responsible for delivering exceptional guided safari experiences to guests through informative, safe, and engaging game drives, bush walks, and wildlife activities. This role involves interpreting the natural environment, ensuring guest safety, enhancing conservation awareness, and representing the lodge or reserve with professionalism. The Field Guide also assists with reserve duties, conservation support, and guest interaction while promoting ethical wildlife viewing practices. 2. Key Responsibilities • Deliver exceptional guided safari experiences to guests through informative, safe, and engaging game drives, bush walks, and wildlife activities. • Interpret the natural environment, ensuring guest safety, enhancing conservation awareness, and representing the lodge or reserve with professionalism. • Assist with reserve duties, conservation support, and guest interaction while promoting ethical wildlife viewing practices. • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the reserve's flora, fauna, and ecosystems to provide accurate and informative commentary during game drives and bush walks. • Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with the lodge or reserve's policies and procedures. 3. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as biology, ecology, wildlife management, or conservation. • At least 2 years of experience working in a similar role or related field. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with guests and colleagues. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Physical stamina to withstand the demands of outdoor work in a wilderness environment. • Valid driver's license. • First aid certification. 4.
