Guest Experience Hostess

An exclusive wine estate in Cape Winelands area is seeking a Guest Experience Hostess to join their front-of-house team on a fixed-term seasonal contract. The successful candidate will be the welcoming face of the venue, ensuring every guest enjoys a warm reception and a memorable dining experience.

Requirements

• Grade 12;

• hospitality-related qualification i

• 2-3 years of previous experience in a similar hostess or front-of-house role, preferably in a premium or fine-dining setting.

• Strong knowledge of restaurant service standards and guest etiquette.

• Familiarity with reservation systems and seating management.

• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• Professional, well-groomed, and confident in engaging with high-profile guests.

• Team-oriented with good organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Able to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

• Positive attitude, flexibility, and a calm approach under pressure.

• Warmly welcome and seat guests in the lounge or restaurant area.

• Manage reservations and maintain accurate records of bookings and walk-ins.

• Present menus and introduce guests to their waiter or waitress.

• Coordinate seating with the service team to ensure smooth table turnover.

• Assist with guest inquiries both in person and over the phone.

• Maintain a neat and organized hostess desk at all times.

• Support guests with special needs or requests, such as families with children or elderly patrons.

• Greet guests on departure and thank them for visiting.

• Provide assistance to wait staff when required.
