Group Financial Controller

Financial Reporting & Compliance Oversee the accounting function for the group's Hotel Operating and Property Companies ("Group Companies"), including a close monitoring and review of the hotel operator scope of responsibilities. Collaborate closely with hotel finance teams, the operator, and owner to compile accurate, timely, and compliant financial reports. Review and consolidate financial statements, ensuring compliance with group policies, applicable accounting standards, lender requirements, and local regulations. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met. Prepare and present financial statements and reports to management and stakeholders. Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and variances. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements. Internal Controls & Risk Management Establish and maintain a strong system of internal controls over financial reporting. Identify and assess financial risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth and timely audits. Implement and maintain effective risk management processes. Budgeting & Forecasting Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget performance, identifying variances and providing explanations. Support the forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making. Strategic Financial Planning Assist in the development of long-term financial plans and strategies. Evaluate investment opportunities and provide financial analysis. Support M&A activities, including due diligence and financial modeling. Provide financial guidance and support to management on strategic initiatives. Team Leadership & Development Lead and manage the group's accounting team, providing guidance and support. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Develop and mentor team members, promoting professional growth. Performance manage team members and conduct performance reviews. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is required. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in financial accounting and reporting, with at least 3 years in a management role. Strong understanding of US GAAP or IFRS. Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus. Experience with consolidation accounting is required. Experience with multi-currency accounting is required. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience with accounting software systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
