Grounds Maintenance Operative

We are seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our existing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in commercial grounds maintenance/soft landscaping. This role involves maintaining soft landscaping sites across Essex, Kent and London. Ensuring outdoor areas remain safe, tidy and visually appealing throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks to a high standard. Including; mowing, stimming, hedge cutting, pruning, planting, de-weeding, changing bins & litter picking.

- Operate and maintain commercial machinery safely and efficiently.

- Assist with landscaping and planting projects as needed.

- Strong knowledge of shrub/plant species.

- Ability to collaborate as part of a team to plan an execute upcoming projects.

- Communicate effectively with team members and line manager.

- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

- Apply herbicides and pesticides as required, falling in line with current regulations and best practice (PA1/PA6 desirable).

- The ability to represent the business in a professional manner when working on site and engaging with members of the public.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a similar commercial grounds maintenance or soft landscaping role.

- Knowledge of commercial landscaping techniques, tools and equipment.

- Full UK driving license (must have).

- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

- Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

- Good understanding of health and safety practices.

Desirable:

- NVQ Level 2 3 in Horticulture or equivalent.

- PA1/PA6 Spraying Certificates.

- Trailer Towing (B+E category on driving license).
