Grocery Department Manager

Job Description This position is responsible for ensuring that all objectives and goals of the department and store, as communicated by the Store Manager, are met and/or exceeded and for the day-to-day management of specific aspects of the department including ordering, merchandising, labour scheduling and customer service. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the company's policies and procedures. This includes but is not limited to: maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, managing budgets and financial resources, developing and implementing strategies for improving customer satisfaction, employee engagement and overall performance of the department. The Grocery Department Manager will also be responsible for leading and motivating a team of employees to achieve their goals and objectives, providing coaching and training as needed, and addressing any issues or concerns that may arise. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues, and maintain confidentiality when required. The Grocery Department Manager will be expected to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays as needed.
