Job description
It all started seven years ago as an ambitious idea. Today, we are the market leader for graduation yearbooks in Germany. Every year, more than two-thirds of all German graduating classes use the nuggit app to design their graduation yearbook and graduation textiles, creating a lasting memory of their shared time.
Our Mission: Through digital innovation and personal customer contact, we are the reliable partner for students in their very first major project. To achieve this, we constantly question the status quo and develop new, creative solutions.
We are a small team with a very large reach. As a Graphic Designer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for our operational design: print, textiles, and the assets that go out daily. This means short communication lines, direct visibility of your work, and a lot of responsibility. However, it also means you need to work independently and prioritize. For specific projects, we collaborate with external experts as needed.
Responsibilities
- Print: You will design graduation yearbooks for over two-thirds of all schools in Germany, setting the quality benchmark for the entire market.
- Textiles: We are currently rebuilding our textile business. You will design collections, prints, and motifs, shaping the look of nuggit on hoodies and shirts.
- Templates and Layouts: You will further develop the design templates with which tens of thousands of students create their own designs in the nuggit app. Clean and production-ready.
- Product: Together with our Product Team, you will improve the layout and design options within the app, bringing the design perspective directly to where our users work.
- Internationalization: We are preparing to expand beyond Germany. You will design layouts that are suitable for other markets as well.
How We Work
- Figma is our home. We work with our own internal setup, which we will onboard you into. If you work in a structured way rather than reinventing every file, you will feel right at home here. We will show you exactly how that looks in our process.
- AI does not replace you, it enhances your work. We actively use AI in the design process: for ideation, variations, and automating recurring steps. You don't need to be a prompt expert, but you should be eager to explore what's possible with it.
- Initiative is mandatory, not a bonus. You will be given goals and context; you shape the path yourself. No one will assign you tickets, and no one will push you.
- Hybrid, truly meant. Our new office is located in Mindspace at Uhlandstraße 32, right by Kudamm and excellently connected, with all the amenities of a coworking space. You can also temporarily use all other Mindspace locations. Home office and mobile working are naturally possible as long as the results are satisfactory.
Qualifications
- You have already gained professional experience as a Graphic Designer. Whether that's two years or five, we are less interested than what you can show.
- You work confidently in Figma and organize your files so that others can work with them.
- You have a solid understanding of print preparation and print production. Textile experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
- You are curious about AI in the design workflow and prefer to experiment rather than wait.
- You organize yourself and prioritize independently. Working in an environment without a rigid design hierarchy appeals to you rather than making you insecure.
- You deliver reliably, even when a lot is happening simultaneously. Our season has clear peaks.
- Creative, critical, and solution-oriented thinking is standard for you.
- You speak fluent German. This is a requirement for us because our target audience and a large part of our designs are German-speaking. Good English is a plus.
- You have a proactive attitude and enjoy working closely with other teams.
Benefits
Our Offer
- See your designs printed, shipped, and worn by over 200,000 people every year
- Diverse projects from print and textiles to app layouts
- A small team that takes design seriously and is always open to new creative ideas
- Collaboration with external experts when a project requires it
- Full access to modern AI tools and the time to become really good at them
- Short communication lines and open ears: Ideas reach the decision-maker directly with us, without intermediate levels
- A salary of up to EUR 45,000 gross per year. We tailor the position to the person: What you bring to the table in the end determines the scope and classification.
The perfect applicant does not exist. We look forward to your application, even if you do not (yet) meet 100% of the requirements, but you have the motivation to acquire the necessary skills. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, regardless of gender identity, religion, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, migration history, age, or disability.
