Graduation internship – Supply chain

In our logistics operation, thousands of shipments move every year between warehouses, customers and suppliers. These transport flows represent a major cost component within the supply chain — yet due to the variety of carriers, modalities and contracts, the total freight spend is complex to oversee and optimise.

At the same time, new regulations such as the Dutch kilometer charge (KM-heffing) and the growing focus on CO₂-based cost attribution will have a structural impact on future transport costs and decision making.

To prepare for this, B&S wants to build a structured transport cost inventory and KPI dashboard that provides insight into the full freight structure — by lane, modality, and carrier — and that supports scenario analysis for new legislation.
