About Hawthorne Park SEN Academy - Graduate Learning Support Assistant Hawthorne Park SEN Academy is a welcoming specialist school in Barnet, providing high-quality education for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to provide individualised support to students with complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in SEN education, while making a positive difference in the lives of our students. Key responsibilities: • Provide individualised support to students with complex needs, including those with autism, ADHD, and physical disabilities. • Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement tailored learning plans for each student. • Support students with their daily routines, including personal care, meal times, and social interactions. • Assist with the management of student behaviour and emotional well-being. • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. What we're looking for: • A degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, psychology, therapy) or equivalent experience. • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a school setting. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances. • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
