Job description
A Technical Designer I plays a crucial role in translating conceptual designs into detailed documentation. Working closely with architects and other interior design professionals, you will contribute to the technical aspects of projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance with building codes, and the successful execution of designs. This position participates in every part of the design and construction process and requires a strong understanding of architectural principles, construction techniques, and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in design principles, including spatial relationships, materials, and finishes. Additionally, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail is essential. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent problem-solving skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to think creatively. The Technical Designer I will be responsible for preparing and maintaining detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and schedules, as well as collaborating with other design professionals to ensure that designs are accurate, complete, and meet project requirements. This position also requires the ability to work with various software and technology tools, including CAD, Revit, and other design software. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards, and will be able to apply this knowledge to ensure that designs are compliant with these regulations. The Technical Designer I will also be responsible for conducting site visits, observing construction progress, and providing feedback to ensure that designs are being executed as intended. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and will be able to work effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that designs are successfully implemented.
