WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Professional responsibility for accounting preparation and monthly closings – clean, on time, closing-ready
• Phased insourcing of the currently externally managed accounting
• Significant contribution to the NetSuite implementation: process design, data migration, system logic
• Reporting to management and our parent company (SAMY Group)
• Professional support and further development of the Accounting team

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

• We are PE-financed (since 2025) – reporting requirements and process restructuring are running in parallel. Demanding at times.
• Operational work is a reality. The strategic part is growing – but doesn't replace hands-on work.
• Professional career, not a management career. You advance professionally and lead through competence, not personnel responsibility.
• We work completely remotely – lived reality, no compromise. So you can work remotely or in one of the three offices in Berlin, Hamburg, or Cologne.

At the same time, you will receive a scope for design that few in-house roles offer: you will build the foundation – processes and structure – for insourcing and NetSuite from scratch. Your numbers go directly to management and the SAMY Group, and you shape the automation and reporting level. In short: you build something rather than managing existing things – and anyone who wants to develop this over years is exactly right here.

Job Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED

Several years of in-depth accounting experience – both hands-on in ongoing business and in building and further developing robust processes.

• Proficient in closing according to HGB (preparation or closing-ready preparation for the tax advisor).
• Solid professional foundation: Your completed degree in economics with a focus on accounting forms the basis – alternatively, a completed financial controller certification with corresponding in-depth professional experience. The crucial thing is that you understand the logic and interrelationships behind the numbers (P&L, Balance Sheet, Double-entry bookkeeping), not just the execution of individual bookings.
• Very good IT skills: proficient in Excel/Google Sheets, ideally SQL user skills – and mandatory experience with ERP systems (ideally NetSuite), in process building as well as operational application.
• Confident stakeholder management: You can prioritize many parallel requirements and cope with tight deadlines without compromising quality.
• Fluent German and English (company language is English).
• Confident, realistic approach to AI tools: you know what they can do, where their limits are, and how to use them efficiently and purposefully.

Nice-to-have

• Experience in an agency, scale-up, or medium-sized service provider.

Personally, we are looking for someone who independently structures dynamic and fast-paced situations, can lead professionally without being a supervisor (convince rather than command), has a high tolerance for hands-on work, and is honest about their own knowledge gaps. In a remote setup, you work independently, structured, reliably, and results-oriented.
