Job description

The Environment:

 

ENSTA, an institution of higher education and research under the authority of the Ministry of the Armed Forces, develops activities in training, research, and innovation in the fields of defense and security, transportation, energy, maritime activities, digital, and health.

 

The school, present on two campuses, in Paris-Saclay and Brest, is a member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. Ranked in the Top 10 best engineering schools in France, its mission is:

  • the training of civil and military engineers, executives, and PhDs for the public and private sectors,

  • high-level research and innovation in close collaboration with industry in key sovereignty sectors within 6 training and research units (UFRs).

 

Within the General Directorate of Services (DGS), the Financial Affairs Division (DAF) is composed of 3 activity poles: the revenue & earmarked operations pole, the expenses pole, and the equipment accounting pole. It brings together 11 agents distributed across the Brest and Palaiseau sites. It is placed under the authority of a division head, who is assisted by a deputy, also head of the expenses pole. The revenue pole, which you will join, consists of a pole head, based on the Paris-Saclay campus, and 3 budgetary and financial managers in charge of revenue.

The holder of the position will be assigned to the Revenue & Earmarked Operations Pole, on the Paris-Saclay Campus.

Your Missions / Main Activities:

 

Under the hierarchical authority of the head of the Revenue & Earmarked Operations Pole, the manager in charge of revenue is responsible for:

  • Receiving and prioritizing revenue requests made by the various departments;

  • Verifying the quality of supporting documents for revenue titles and ensuring their proper receipt, assisting the prescribing departments if necessary;

  • Assisting in the implementation of a global revenue management tool jointly with the various concerned business departments;

  • Entering all data relating to revenue agreements and contracts in the dedicated module of the Finance Information System in accordance with the institution's analytical and budgetary framework;

  • Controlling the reliability of information reported in reporting states and tools;

  • Producing interim and final financial reports for research contracts.

  • Ensuring coordination of operations with the accounting agency to guarantee the reconciliation of the institution's revenues and their regularization;

  • Ensuring the proper dissemination of practical information on administrative procedures related to the revenue process and participating in their improvement and tracking files and following up with concerned internal or external contacts;

  • Participating in the budgetary monitoring of income by ensuring the proper receipt of documents from the various departments and by monitoring execution rates.

Missions / Ancillary Activity:

 

  • Participating in revenue inventory operations (revenue to be received, deferred revenue, etc.) in conjunction with business departments and the accounting agency, as part of the annual closing;

  • Contributing to any service activity based on established priorities;

  • Contributing to the Quality approach, particularly through drafting and updating procedures, and completing and monitoring indicators;

  • Contributing to the School's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) approach within the framework of its missions and activities.

 

The holder of the position will be assigned to the Revenue & Earmarked Operations Pole, on the Paris-Saclay Campus. He/she will regularly work with members of the Brest campus pole.

Level of Degree and Training:

High School Diploma (BAC) to BAC + 2 (Associate's Degree equivalent)

Employment:

Positions open to candidates:

  • Civil servant category C+ / B;

  • Contract employee (permanent position; fixed-term contract of 1 to 3 years renewable) permanent contract possible after 18 months of fixed-term contract.

Full-time position (39 hours per week, 25 days of annual leave, 23 RTT days annually).

About the School:

ENSTA is a founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris). As part of IP Paris, the school participates in the activities of interdisciplinary centers, particularly the Interdisciplinary Center for Defense and Security Studies (CIEDS, supported by the Ministry of the Armed Forces and the Defense Innovation Agency (AID)). It is behind the creation of the Interdisciplinary Center for Seas & Oceans, inaugurated in January 2025. Researchers from the school also collaborate within studies led by the Hi-Paris, IA Cluster laureate in 2024, E4C, or E4H centers, among others.

 

ENSTA resulted from the merger on January 1, 2025, of ENSTA Paris and ENSTA Bretagne. Its headquarters is located in Palaiseau (91), on the Paris-Saclay campus, and it has another campus in Brest. It is implementing a new unified engineering program across both campuses (Paris-Saclay and Brest) starting the 2026/2027 academic year.
