Job description

Thrivo Wealth Partners AG

Managing Director & Company Successor

Wealth Management · Thrivo Partner Platform · DACH

Senior Level · Operational Leadership with Equity Path to Co-ownership

You will take over the operational leadership of an established independent asset manager in the DACH region — and work with a modern platform from day one: growth capital, technology infrastructure, M&A expertise, and an experienced peer network.

The transition will be gradual. Over time, you will grow into the sole operational leadership and an equity stake in the institute.

This is one of the few roles in Wealth Management where entrepreneurial scope for action, an established client base, and a modern platform come together.

The Role

You will take over the management of a Thrivo Partner Company — an established independent asset manager in the DACH region with its own brand, its own client base, and its own identity. Your operational employer will be this partner company, not Thrivo itself.

The transition is gradual: You typically start as Co-Managing Director or deputy with a clear path to sole operational leadership. The owner will remain involved for two to five years, structured handover of client relationships, and provide advisory support. In parallel, you will gradually grow into an equity stake in the institute.

The appointment as a managing director of a regulated asset management company is subject to approval (FINMA, BaFin, or FMA, depending on the location). Thrivo will coordinate this process together with the partner institute and you — from the preparation of documents to approval.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Operational leadership of the partner company: client support, compliance, risk management, reporting, staff management

  • Taking over and maintaining long-standing client relationships — high-net-worth private clients, entrepreneurs, families

  • Strategic further development of the institute in collaboration with the owner and Thrivo: growth, digitalization, efficiency

  • Shaping the roadmap for bolt-on acquisitions and organic growth

  • Building and leading the team at the institute

  • Representing the institute towards regulatory authorities, auditors, and business partners

What Thrivo Brings as a Platform

This role differs from a classic Managing Director role in an independent asset manager in one way: you don't lead the institute alone. Behind the scenes, there is a platform that gives you the tools that make the difference between stagnation and growth today.

ThrivoOS — The Technology Infrastructure

Compliance automation, AI-powered processes, modern reporting, digital client communication — embedded in the institute, without a system change. You will spend less time on operational burdens and more time on what matters: clients and growth.

M&A Support for Bolt-on Acquisitions

Growth through acquisitions is hardly manageable for an institute alone. Christopher Kraft and the Thrivo team identify, structure, and support bolt-on acquisitions for you — from initial contact to closing. You focus on integration, not the transaction.

Growth Capital

Thrivo provides capital for strategic investments — new locations, team expansions, technology projects, acquisitions. You don't have to finance growth from cash flow.

Regulatory Expertise & Appointment Procedures

FINMA, BaFin, and FMA requirements are becoming increasingly complex. Thrivo supports with central regulatory expertise — in ongoing compliance matters, audit processes, and ownership control procedures, as well as in your initial appointment as a managing director. Coordination between the owner, regulatory authority, and you is handled by us.

Peer Network

You are not alone. You will become part of a circle of Thrivo managing directors who are responsible for comparable tasks in comparable institutes — structured exchanges of experience, joint investment foundations, shared best practices.

Equity Stake in the Institute

You will gradually grow into an equity stake in the institute. The structure — timing, valuation, conditions — will be pre-negotiated with the owner as part of the Thrivo partnership and is part of what we structure during the match.

The Company — Archetype

Each Thrivo Partner Company is different. However, the institutes follow a recurring pattern:

Profile

Established independent asset manager in the DACH region, typically with assets under management between CHF/EUR 150 million and 1 billion. Long-standing client base, clear investment profile, stable margin structure. Often between 5 and 20 employees. Owners typically between 55 and 70 years old.

Location

Switzerland, Germany, or Austria — depending on the specific match. Locations are established, with own premises and established regional roots.

Clientele

High-net-worth private clients, entrepreneurs, families — relationships that have often grown over decades. These clients have personally trusted the owner. You will build on this trust gradually and with substance.

Who We Are Looking For

What You Bring

  • At least 12 years of experience in Wealth Management — Private Banking, Independent Asset Management, Family Office, or comparable environment — at least 3–5 years of which in a management or executive position

  • Personal suitability for appointment as a managing director of a regulated asset management company — demonstrable leadership experience, impeccable personal and professional integrity, professional qualification according to FINIG, WpIG, or comparable framework

  • Practically proven understanding of compliance, risk management, and client protection in the regulated asset management context

  • Demonstrable experience in managing client relationships at a senior level, ideally with your own AUM responsibility

  • Readiness and personal maturity to take over an established institute — respect for what has been built, patience during the transition, courage for further development

  • German as a native language or fluent; English fluent

What Else Interests Us

  • Own entrepreneurial experience, whether in a managing director role or as a co-founder

  • Existing personal network in the DACH Wealth Management community

  • Experience in building or restructuring advisory teams

  • Affinity for modern advisory infrastructure and digital processes

Who You Are

You have an established career in Wealth Management. You earn well, you are not in a hurry. But you feel — perhaps for a long time — that the next step should not be another change between banks. You want to take responsibility, shape, co-own.

You understand that the operational leadership of an independent asset manager is different from a director role in a large bank. It is closer to the client, closer to the company, closer to one's own responsibility. This is exactly what you are looking for — and you know that the combination of an established institute and a modern platform is precisely the lever that will make this role so effective in the coming years.

About Thrivo

Thrivo Wealth Partners AG is a Swiss holding company based in Zug. Our model: participation in owner-managed asset managers, orchestration of succession, shared technology infrastructure. We are a long-term partner for future-proof asset managers in the DACH region.

The Team

Behind Thrivo is a team that knows this market from various angles. Christopher Kraft, as an investment banker at Perella Weinberg Partners and in European wealth platforms, has accompanied numerous succession processes in asset management. Felix Lobkowicz has founded five companies — one to IPO — and is now building ThrivoOS, the infrastructure platform that supports the model. Finn Weise is responsible for capital and governance: over a decade of experience in building FinTechs and financial platforms, previously at Morgan Stanley and European VC funds. On the board is Sebastian Henrichs, former CEO of FNZ Bank Germany — the industry's leading wealth platform.

Behind Thrivo

Behind Thrivo is a circle of investors from the finance and FinTech world — experienced entrepreneurs, operators, and family offices who understand this market and think long-term. We have consciously excluded traditional Private Equity. A platform that promises long-term stability to entrepreneurs cannot optimize returns short-term itself.

Next Steps

If you feel addressed, let's have a confidential initial conversation. We will get to know each other, hear your story, understand your aspirations — and you will understand how we work.

If the conversation leads to a positive outcome, you will become part of our succession circle. As soon as a concrete constellation arises that fits your profile, we will contact you specifically — with details about the respective institute, the region, the owner, and the transition structure.

Active search, regular contact maintenance, and complete confidentiality are a matter of course. You retain full control at all times over whether and how a specific contact is made.

The initial contact is direct — a short message with your background is sufficient. We will respond personally within 48 hours.
