New Business and Product Development Manager
Job description
Objective of the Position Identify, develop, and capitalize business opportunities in the plastic industry, transforming market needs into profitable products and solutions. The position leads the development of new formulations, raw material improvements, compounding solutions, and finished products, managing the complete process from opportunity detection to launch and commercialization. Main Responsibilities Detect technical needs and opportunities for innovation, analyzing market trends and customer requirements to identify areas for growth and improvement. Develop and implement strategies to capitalize on these opportunities, leveraging expertise in plastic materials science, processing technologies, and product development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution, including sales, marketing, and manufacturing. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks to achieve desired outcomes. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners. Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive business growth and innovation. Key Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., materials science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline). Minimum 5 years of experience in the plastic industry, preferably in product development, marketing, or sales. Strong understanding of plastic materials science, processing technologies, and product development principles. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make informed decisions. Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is an asset.
