Purchasing Manager

Original Resorts is a Mexican hotel group with over 40 years of active experience in the hotel, cruise line, vacation club, and real estate sectors. We are currently looking for professionals with previous experience in the position of PURCHASING MANAGER who meets the following characteristics:
BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for managing the procurement for all departments, obtaining the best market conditions, achieving a balance between price, quality, and service, optimizing the use of the group's monetary resources, and supplying goods from suppliers in a timely manner for operations based on current purchasing policies and procedures.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, organizes, directs, and controls monthly and annual purchases.
- Ensures the purchase of CAPEX in accordance with the authorized budget and schedule.
- Conducts tenders, negotiations, and agreements with suppliers to seek the best benefit for corporate purchases.
- Negotiates average credit terms with suppliers.
- Conducts benchmarking of new products and services to communicate them to department heads to collaborate with the continuous improvement policy.
- Collaborates in market research within the supply sector for the opening of new group developments.
- Identifies, receives, and selects potential suppliers that meet established quality standards.
- Visits supplier facilities in coordination with the Quality Auditor to apply the Supplier Evaluation questionnaire and the Hygienic Food Handling questionnaire as part of the selection process.
- Attends supplier fairs and exhibitions.
- Follows up on non-compliance with policies and procedures incurred by suppliers.
- Reviews requisitions from different departments.
- Supervises that purchase orders are issued in accordance with the group's policies and procedures.
- Supervises the proper management of credit cards assigned to the purchasing department, as well as the department's petty cash.
- Verifies and supervises compliance with hygiene and sanitation standards in the handling of Food and Beverages. Maintains constant communication with the executive and operational committees of the hotel units.
- Attends and follows up on requirements from internal and external audits.
- Manages their personnel, authorizes rest days, vacations, leaves, etc.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Tourism, Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 5 years in the position.
Languages: Advanced English.
Knowledge of:
- Hotel systems.
- Food and beverage cost control.
- Warehouse and inventory management.
- Hygienic food handling.
- Software for the administration of the purchasing and warehouse department.
- Knowledge of the NOM (Official Mexican Standards) applicable to the hotel industry.
