Job Description

Distribution Center Manager directs one or more areas of the manufacturing environment to meet production, quality, and cost objectives, supervising daily operations typically in three (or four) shifts. This title determines equipment, material, and human resources requirements. The Distribution Center Manager represents Operations in multifunctional leadership teams to drive commercial, financial, quality, operational, and development goals for their site team, and is responsible for operational results across multiple teams/units within a facility.

Main Responsibilities

Personnel Management

  • Attract, retain, and develop high-potential talents, monitoring team performance and adjusting training plans as needed.

  • Lead all aspects of employee development, including training, annual goal setting (OGSM), and performance management (using the Global Performance Management System), providing regular feedback.

  • Execute general management functions, including performance evaluations, promotions, terminations, estimating personnel needs, and ensuring timely compliance.

  • Model and promote the Corporation's Code of Ethics and Business Values.

  • Act as a model for the team and an agent of change, positively influencing team members to achieve individual and business goals.

  • Coordinate team efforts, create and manage a regional strategy, and operational plan.

Site Management and Operations

Strategy and Performance:

  • Create and execute the vision and operational strategic plan for the plant, aligning the team with that vision.

  • Analyze data to drive long-term strategic change and site improvement, fostering a continuous organizational culture of improvement.

  • Translate market trends and customer needs into achievable goals that create a competitive advantage.

  • Implement successful financial and business plans (financial, security, service, organization, inventory) at short- and long-term levels.

Financial Management:

  • Develop, analyze, and manage operational expenses (OPEX).

  • Ensure the accuracy and completion of capital planning and budgeting (CAPEX).

  • Promote continuous cost reduction and operational efficiency improvement, achieving maximum productivity levels to ensure the lowest possible cost and best value.

Safety and Quality:

  • Lead the safe operation of the installation as a top priority, meeting all legal, legislative, and corporate safety requirements.

  • Ensure that good operational practices are implemented and improvement programs are incorporated into the Operations function culture.

  • Understand and implement ISO 9000 procedures related to job responsibilities.

Project Management and Improvement:

  • Lead significant project initiatives (multi-site, multifunctional, or multi-business), including programming and planning.

  • Lead benchmarking efforts related to Operations in support of divisional goals.
