Health and Safety Management, Construction and Renovations

Objective:

Lead the safety strategy for construction and renovation projects, ensuring the identification, mitigation, and effective control of risks associated with site activities and contractors, through the implementation of standards, prevention programs, field supervision, and regulatory compliance. Contribute to the achievement of business objectives by guaranteeing the safe execution of projects, the protection of people, and the promotion of a safety and continuous improvement culture.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement the safety strategy for construction, renovation, and major maintenance projects in stores, distribution centers, and other facilities.
2. Lead risk management through design reviews, construction, renovation, or major/high-risk architectural or maintenance project risk analyses, safety inspections, and field audits.
3. Establish and supervise compliance with safety standards for contractors and suppliers, ensuring the correct execution of high-risk activities.
4. Manage work permit programs for critical activities such as working at heights, excavations, confined spaces, hazardous energy, lifting operations, and hot work.
5. Ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations during all phases of construction and renovation.
6. Investigate incidents and deviations, identifying root causes and defining corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrences.
7. Monitor performance indicators (KPIs) and generate executive reports to evaluate trends, emerging risks, and improvement opportunities.
8. Advise business, construction, operations, and maintenance areas on decision-making related to safety risks and controls.
9. Promote a preventive safety culture through training, visible leadership, effective communication, and support for project teams.
10. Drive continuous improvement of construction safety processes, standards, and programs, aligned with national and international best practices.

Position Profile:

• Experience: 8 years in Construction Safety, Industrial Safety, or Risk Management. - Proven experience leading safety programs for construction and renovation projects, including contractor management, risk analysis, audits, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance.
• Technical Knowledge: Mastery of construction safety and occupational health regulations (NOM-STPS, OSHA, ANSI, NFPA), risk management, contractor safety, and high-risk work control.
• Advanced English
