Job description
Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and diagnose surgical conditions in patients across a wide range of general surgery cases (e.g., gastrointestinal, abdominal, hernia, soft tissue, appendectomy). Perform surgeries using appropriate techniques, including open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) methods. Oversee and manage all aspects of surgical care, including preoperative assessment, patient education, informed consent, and postoperative recovery. Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Develop and implement treatment plans, taking into account patient-specific factors, medical history, and current medical knowledge. Stay up-to-date with advancements in surgical techniques, technologies, and best practices to provide high-quality patient care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to continuously improve patient outcomes and satisfaction. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including medical histories, treatment plans, and test results. Demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care, empathy, and compassion. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and hospital policies. Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency situations as needed. Participate in peer review and quality assurance activities to ensure adherence to established standards and guidelines. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures. Participate in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of hospital-wide policies and procedures. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in the field. Participate in peer mentoring and coaching activities to support the professional development of colleagues. Participate in departmental and hospital-wide committees and task forces to contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and initiatives.
